~Helps the actor develop and fine tune their process of working both pre-audition and pre-set. \u00a0if you don’t develop these skills unfortunately you won’t be working<\/p>\n
~This is not a scene study class per say–but\u00a0you will be working the scene<\/strong>\u00a0on set-day–you will be more closely mirroring the\u00a0real-world<\/strong>\u00a0process of becoming the person\/chararcter and ‘working the scene’ prior to coming to set, all by yourself and\/or with a peer\/s or a coach<\/p>\n~You the actor get the opportunity to work the fundamental components of our craft and business–The Story, \u00a0The Audition & The Set & Yourself<\/strong><\/p>\nHow It Works<\/strong><\/p>\n~Everything is on-camera<\/p>\n
~Class size is focused, no more than 8 actors<\/p>\n
~Material is current<\/p>\n
~The actor receives an emailed video file of all their work<\/p>\n
~The\u00a04 week<\/strong>\u00a0class is essentially divided into 2\u00a0two week segments<\/strong>—week 1<\/strong>\u00a0is the audition\u00a0week 2<\/strong>\u00a0is bringing that audition back ‘set-ready’. \u00a0Week 3<\/strong>\u00a0is a new audition and \u00a0week 4<\/strong>\u00a0is bringing that audition back ‘set-ready’ as if you booked it.\u00a0Please note<\/strong>, since all work is geared for the specific student and each specific group, specifics may change for maximum actor benefit. To re-cap, each 4 week class involves 2 auditions and 2 concurrent scene-study\/set-ready days<\/p>\n~Various exercises will be employed through-out the 4 weeks to get the actor where they need to be, as much as possible, these exercises are designed to be taken ‘home’ and used by the actor to expand their actor-toolbox & their work process<\/p>\n
~The actor will receive their audition sides 48 hours in advance, more time than we often get in the real world. You will prepare that audition as you would for any audition.<\/p>\n
~Week 1<\/strong>\u00a0begins with a check-in and a warm-up. \u00a0After the warm-up, the actors go into the waiting room and audition individually. \u00a0Each actor receives re-direction in the room and does the audition again. \u00a0The actor is then given specific instruction about what they need to do in the interceding week to prepare for ‘set-day’ \u00a0Your audition is then emailed to you. \u00a0You will view and critique your own work, and\u00a0email your written critique to the instructor<\/strong>. \u00a0Viewing your work and developing an unattached ability to critique your work is integral in taking your work to the next level,\u00a0please note<\/strong>, this is a skill that will take time, like any skill.<\/p>\n~Week 2<\/strong>\u00a0is bringing that same audition back ‘set-ready’. \u00a0Does this mean you have home work–Oh YES. \u00a0The more work you put in the more you will get out of this class. \u00a0This class will get you to develop an accountable, specific and passionate way of working. \u00a0We shoot the scenes out as much as possible. \u00a0You will bring wardrobe, props and whatever you have worked out you need to own this character\/work as much as you possibly can.<\/p>\n~Week 3<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0week 4<\/strong>\u00a0are a carbon copy of the first two weeks but with a whole new set of sides<\/p>\n~This class is a whole lot of fun and a ‘whole lot of challenging’–only by rising to the occasion will you master what ever that occasion may be<\/p>\n
~\u00a0 The sides will be used to target what is and is not working in the actor\u2019s audition. The same sides will then be worked on in-depth as a ‘set-ready scene study’. \u00a0With this approach, specific exercises and tools will be used to stretch and challenge the actor to deepen their work, focus and authenticity.<\/p>\n
~ This class incorporates the effective use of camera, deepens and specifies your personal emotional triggers, and challenges your commitment building the confidence you the actor needs to excel\u2014to BOOK and to WORK<\/div>\n
